First trip to the pool

We have had an unseasonably cooler June this year and a as a result we have not made it to the neighborhood pool.  Today the weather was fantastic so we decided to take advantage and meet our friends at the pool after naptime.  This was Cassidy's first trip to the pool.  The water was still pretty cold.  She didn't hate it but didn't love it either.  However, she looked super cute.  Kuddos to Matt for getting in the freezing water, Way to take one for the team. :)
Distracted by Libby and Carter, but still not so sure of the water

Hi mom

OK, I'm ready to get out now

Happy girl

She makes us smile.  Such a happy baby

Cassidy is 7 months old

Cassidy's personality is coming out more and more.  She is such a happy baby.  She still adores Carter and Ella Catherine.  She is just starting to really pay attention to Elway.  She thinks it is hilarious when he sniffs her.  I'm guessing the whiskers tickle a little.  She is starting to move around more and can reach for items while sitting up.  Still not crawling but it won't be long.  She still loves her milk but is very much enjoying food too.  There is not a baby food she won't eat.  Much like Ella Catherine and Carter the butternut squash is one of her favorites.
Such a big girl

Thinking about smiling for mommy, who is acting a fool.

Cracking herself up as she leans forward and mom jumps to catch her before she falls.  These monthly pictures are getting more challenging

Silly self portraits

I attempted to get some shots of Cassidy and myself on my phone this morning.  All she wanted was to grab the phone.  She and I got so tickled, resulting in the below photos.

Carter the Karate Kid

Carter's best friend, Isaac, is taking Karate lessons.  It was bring a friend to class day and he chose Carter.  As I've mentioned before, Carter is extremely shy and karate was a huge stretch for him.  Matt said he was timid at first but then joined in and by the end was having a ball.  Yay for trying new things.

Fathers day 2013

We had a low key Father's day. Started off with church, followed by breakfast, next came presents and finally a day of Matt getting to do whatever his heart desired.  It was a good day.  Our three munchkins are super lucky to have Matt as their daddy.  He is an amazing father and I love having a special day to celebrate it and show him how much we appreciate him.  Hopefully he already knows but just in case we don't say it enough, WE LOVE YOU DADDY and WE THINK YOU ARE THE BESTEST DADDY in the WHOLE WORLD!

Although Carter wasn't up for the pictures after church, he was first in line to hand out Matt's gifts

A reversible belt.  Now he doesn't have to search for a black or a brown belt, he has both in one belt

Dyeing for color

Ella Catherine started asking Matt and  if she could dye her hair about 2 months ago.  Of course, my immediate answer in my head was no, you are too young.  However, I wanted to investigate a bit why she wanted to dye her hair and clarify exactly what she wanted to do.  So, I asked her why she wanted to dye her hair.  Her answer she thought it would be fun.   I took a deep breathe and asked my next question.  "What color would you like to dye it"  Her answer, " Well a girl in my school has her hair blue and I think maybe I would like blue."  Inside I was panicking a little (not going to lie), but my response "Ella Catherine it is the school year and we are not going to dye your hair. Mommy thinks you are still just a little too young to start dyeing your hair."  She was disappointed but really didn't complain about it and didn't speak of it again until about 2 months later.  It was summer time and she asked again about dyeing her hair.  I told her go ask your daddy.  Thinking in my head there is no way he will go for this and then I've said no and he has said no case over.  She comes back and says "Daddy said I could do it."  My reply was "daddy was kidding."  Well come to find out daddy wasn't kidding.  His rationale was a little color will not hurt her. If we don't make a big deal out of it, then it won't become a big deal.  This is why we make a perfect match.  I'm a little to stuffy at times and he helps me loosen up and just have fun.  So, I called our hairdresser and spoke with her. She said we had a few options.  We could use actual dye or she could use hair chalk.  We opted for hair chalk.  He loosed me up a bit but not completely. :)

Adding the hair chalk

New summer hairdo plus a little pink hair chalk.  She was super excited and I think she is adorable!  Who knows maybe we will do this more often.

Look who is sitting up by herself

She isn't 100% stable yet but Cassidy is getting stronger and is now able to sit up.  If she leans for anything she topples over but she is very excited to have this new view of the world.

Sweet Big Brother

Carter wanted to feed Cassidy her bottle after church this morning.  He is such a sweet and loving big brother. Cassidy adores him!

A treat while daddy's in class

We had a great day cleaning and playing around the house today.  I decided a nice cold treat was in store.  So, we took a trip to Sweet Cece's.  The kids got to pick out their flavor of frozen yogurt (shhh they think its ice cream) and a few toppings.  All except Cassidy that is.  Poor thing!  Won't be long and she will be enjoying a frozen treat too.

yummy treat
trying to eat my ice cream, mom.
Poor Cassidy just got a spoon to chew on

Just lying around

The kids were just lounging around this morning and we decided to have some fun.

Love these three

Look who is pushing up

All fun and games until someone loses their balance.  Love this picture.  When you have 3 kids and try to get 1 good photo, you have about 30 of these in the process. Priceless
