Moving up in Gymnastics

Ella Catherine moved up to the next level class in Gymnastics today.  She was so excited last week when they told her she would be moving up.  However, this morning she was a little nervous about the move.  She was a little timid at first but after warm ups she warmed up and did fabulous.  I think she will thrive with the new challenges this class will provide.  I was so very proud of her today that she didn't let her fear stand in her way.  She did a great job.

3 months old

My how the time does fly.  So hard to believe our sweet baby girl is already 3 months old.  She is smiling and laughing more.  Cassidy loves to watch her big brother and big sister and finds them hilarious.  She just started rolling over on her side and much to her mommy's delight sleeping through the night.  We love her so much and can't imagine our lives without her.

 Love that sweet smile

Loves those rolls!

Such a happy baby!  She loves to talk, smile and laugh when you are changing her diaper.
She found her thumb this past week and I believe is the reason she is now sleeping through the night.

Girls day

Ella Catherine had the day off school today for Presidents day.  So, I wanted us to have a fun day.  I took her to the paint a pottery place and let her pick her pottery to paint.  She and I chatted while she painted and Cassidy slept in her carseat.  As she was finishing up Cassidy woke up, which was perfect.  I fed her the bottle and then Ella Catherine and I went out to lunch at Chick-fil-A.  It was a GREAT mother and daughters day.

100th day of Kindergarten

For the 100th day of Kindergarten, Ella Catherine was asked to dress like she was 100 years old.  So we baby powder in her hair to turn it white and put it up in a bun.  She wore pearls, a shawl and decorative button covers on her button down shirt.  She carried my oversized purse and wore big pink sunglasses.  She and her friends had a fun day counting to 100 with different objects for math,  they had a scavenger hunt in their classroom to find 100 hershey kisses and she had to make an art project with 100 pieces to bring to school to show.  She made a necklace out of 100 small colored paperclips.

Snow Fun 2013

Ella Catherine's school was closed 2/1/12 due to snow and possible icy conditions.  Their was snow but the roads were crystal clear.  Since she was staying home, Matt and I decided to let Carter stay home too.  The kids didn't want any part of going outside at first.  We played board games, playdoh and building blocks.  However, after naptime they were itching to get outside.  Unfortunately, they didn't get as much time as they would have liked because the sun went down and it got dark.  However, we woke up Saturday to it snowing like crazy!  They were so excited that they immediately went and put on their snow gear even before they had breakfast.  They played for about 30 minutes and then came in for hot chocolate and breakfast.  As soon as breakfast was settled, they went back outside.  They spent the majority of the day outside.  Ella Catherine collected some relatively clean snow and I made them some snow ice cream as a treat.  They liked it so much that they grabbed a tupperware container and filled it with snow to put in the freezer and save for later. :)  I tried to explain that it would turn to ice and when we took it out just melt into water, but they just couldn't grasp the idea.  So, we have snow in our freezer.
