Saying Goodbye

Today was a very sad day for the Lynch family. We had to say goodbye to Baylor. I can remember so well her birth day. She was one of the puppies from my parent's lab Dixie. Dixie was a black lab and the father was a yellow lab. I had told my parents that if there was a yellow female I wanted it. She gave birth to 4 yellow males, 4 black females, 1 black male and 1 yellow female. It was destiny!!! She was destined to be mine, my golden baylor girl! She was a wonderful dog. She is extremely missed. I found the below poem on the internet and thought it was perfect.

If it should be...

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,

and pain should keep me from my sleep,

then you must do what must be done,

for we know this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand,

but don't let grief then stay your hand,

for this day, more than the rest,

your love and friendship must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,

what is to come can hold no fears,

Would you want me to suffer? So,

when the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend,

only stay with me until the end,

and hold me firm and speak to me,

until my eyes no longer see.

It is a kindness that you do to me,

although my tail it's last has waved,

from pain and suffering I have been saved.

Do not grieve, it should be you,

who must decide this thing to do.

We've been so close, we two these years,

Don't let your heart hold any fears.

We planted a dogwood tree in our yard today in her memory. She is forever in our hearts.

Rest in peace my sweet golden baylor girl 10/04/2000-3/12/2011

I am SO sorry to hear about Baylor =( I can only imagine how hard that was!! I miss y'all - Ella Catherine is such a lady now. She looks so adorable in her swim lesson photos.

Hope y'all are doing well.

Megan,
I miss you too!!! Seems like yesterday you and I were in E clinic and I was pregnant. Can't believe it has been 4 years!

I hope Houston is treating you right! I'll have to call and catch up on your life.
