Last day of the 2015 school year

Today was the last day of the 2015 school year.  Well, let's be honest there hasn't been much learning going on for at least the last week.  :)  This morning it is official though, No more school!  We went to school to pick up their report cards and give their teachers one last hug before summer.  We are so thankful for their teachers and the great job they have done this year.  Both Ella Catherine and Carter have learned and grown so much.  Now Bring on SUMMER!

Carter's kindergarten readiness class had an end of the year ceremony on Friday May 22nd.  They sang us several songs and then Ms. Davis handed out their certificates.

First day of staycation

The end of the school year schedule always baffles me.  The kids are off Memorial day, the Tuesday after that is a teacher's work day, they go for about 2 minutes on Wednesday to pick up report cards and then they are done for the year.  Well, just worked out this year that I had some vacation time I needed to burn.  So, I decided to turn this week into a fun staycation of sorts for the big kids and I.  Here are some of the highlights from day 1.

Soccer 2015

These boys!  So much fun watching them play this Spring season.  They really came together and learned to work together.  

First Communion

Ella Catherine made her first communion today.  Matt and I are very proud of her!  She never complained about having to go to her religious education class every Sunday afternoon and She has studied hard to prepare for today.  Such a beautiful ceremony and we are so grateful that our parents were able to come and share in her accomplishment.

 

Every child was sent home with a banner and instructed to decorate it however their heart led them.  They used the banners to decorate all the pews in church.  Here is Ella Catherine's design.  Three crosses with the words Jesus Loves us written on them.
